Bhagavad Gita Course

Posted by on September 7, 2015

The Bhagavad Gita is a sacred text of Hinduism that teaches a spiritual way of living leading to deep freedom, joy and peace. It teaches a life of living Love. Because the Bhagavad Gita offers pragmatic techniques and practices to “be only Love” we have chosen to draw from it to support our ever deeper Communion with Love.

This 4 week course focuses on becoming and being certain spiritual qualities. These qualities are universal and are all aspects of Love. The Bhagavad Gita, along with other sources, is drawn upon to support practices and techniques to make these spiritual qualities an experiential reality for the participants. These qualities include selfless service, relinquishing personal gain and self-interest, imperturbability, devotion, and absorption into Love,

Course includes:

  • 4 Workshops attended live or online (Friday October 2nd, 9th, 16th and 23rd: 6-8pm Arizona time)
  • Daily homework: lessons, contemplations, prayers, meditations and writing exercises throughout the week
  • Sharing with other course participants on the forum, with other participants directly on Skype or phone, or during the workshop.

This course, as all activities of Communion with Love, is only possible by your generous donations. Registration is required.

What to expect

This course is designed to support deep immersion into qualities of Love including selflessness, imperturbability, relinquishing aversions and attractions, and absorption into Love. During the weekly workshops we seek to bring each participant to an experiential connection with the topics of that week through exercises, guided meditations, and prayers. In essence, the workshop is designed to set in motion a becoming of these spiritual qualities and a rediscovering them inside.

Throughout the week that follows, these qualities are then practiced through various exercises. Each day a central idea is repeated in one’s mind so that one can deepen one’s experiential understanding of it. This is supported by daily prayers and meditations on the topic as well as writing and reflection exercises that then can be shared with the rest of the group through the forum, in private with another participant via Skype or phone, or at the next workshop.

Communion with Love’s core intention is to make spirituality experiential and a permanent inner change and transformation. For this reason this course is fundamentally different than most lectures, classes or courses. It does not seek to provide information or “book-learning”, but instead supports an inner exploration towards finding the Truth within.

For this reason this course is not a studying of the Bhagavad Gita but instead, the Bhagavad Gita provides a map of where to focus inner exploration.

It would be helpful to read the Bhagavad Gita prior to the course. The “Bhagavad Gita, According to Ghandi” is a recommended version.

Sample of topics covered in the course:

Week1: Selflessness

Week2: Love&Devotion, Worshipping Love

Week3: Imperturbability & Equanimity

Week4: Absorption into Love

This course leads to being a Love that is free from this world.
